Turkey-EU relations : what next ?

| Le

Turkish Insights Policy Dialogue
Thursday 9 October 2014, 15.00-17.00 (registration from 14.45)
Maelbeek Room, Residence Palace, Rue de la Loi 155, 1040 Brussels

Turkey’s relations with the EU date back to the 1962 Ankara Agreement. It is an important relationship with cooperation in many different areas, including trade, energy, foreign and security policy and migration. However, Turkey’s blocked accession talks together with a back-tracking on democratic values and civil liberties in the country have strained ties.
A day after the European Commission publishes its 2014 Progress Report on Turkey, this Policy Dialogue will look at the conclusions of the report, developments in Turkey and the prospects and challenges facing this relationship.
